East Fork of Lake Fork. From the camping area just past the bridge, travel down Lake Fork creek for a mile, then climb the east fork. After some steep switchbacks, the trail levels out.
Suggest bicycle route from the entrance of Ponderosa Park past Little Payette Lake and up Lick Creek road to the trailhead at the bridge on Lick Creek road. This access road plus the East Fork Trail makes a pleasant afternoon's bike ride, with no driving involved if you camped in Ponderosa State Park.
Hikers can continue on from this point to Maki Lake, after another 3 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain.
