STERLING (track) Sterling Pass Trail

Sterling Pass trail from Oak Creek Canyon to summit. This spectacular trail gains an even thousand feet in just one mile. In mid-November, this trail is beautiful because of the contrast with the mixed Ponderosa, Oak and Maple forest with the red rock features and cliffs. To the west, the trail drops steeply down and follows Sterling Creek past the Vultee Arch to Dry Creek.

LODGE (waypoint) Slide Rock Lodge

Slide Rock Lodge. Old school motel, with few amenities, in a beautiful setting. Comfortable beds and a great location right across the highway from Oak Creek. Although the lodge is close to the road, we heard very little traffic noise from our room and slept well. We also got great advice about Sedona activities from the staff. Highly Recommended.

SRSP (waypoint) Slide Rock State Park

Slide Rock State Park. The main attraction of the park is the swimming hole through several hundred yards of smooth, monolithic sandstone.
